About amore without borders
A
more Without Borders is a fundraising initiative benefiting the international humanitarian organization Doctors Without Borders. The event was conceived in 2012, when Sylvia Mantella, director of branding at Mantella Corporation, and Michelle Zerillo-Sosa, editor-in-chief and co-founder of Dolce Magazine and founder of Amore Bags, came up with the idea of selling restored vintage medical bags to support this noble cause. Thanks to their passion and ingenuity, the event has gathered momentum and is set to launch next spring.
Founded by French doctors and journalists in 1971, Doctors Without Borders operates with a mandate to provide emergency medical care to those in need. The Nobel Peace Prize laureate works in more than 60 countries, with over 27,000 members assisting millions of people who are unjustly subjected to violence, armed conflict, malnutrition and sweeping epidemics that claim innocent lives everyday. The mission of Amore Without Borders is to advocate change by raising valuable funds for this organization that, without discrimination, provides necessary medical care to those deprived of this basic human right.
As chair, Sylvia brings her passion for philanthropy and fresh perspective on fashion to the event, where vintage medical bags designed by Amore Bags will be sold in support of the cause. It is Michelle’s hope that these redesigned accessories, some as old as 1920, will continue to help others, much like they did decades ago.
The event will be held at Downtown Porsche’s Toronto dealership, where, amongst delicious food and beverages, guests will have the chance to win a custom designed 2014 Porsche 911 and a trip by private jet to Miami or New York for a stay at a W Hotel through a live auction.
Mantella Corporation and Downtown Porsche shall be in outstanding company alongside fellow sponsors Rogers Communications, Amore Bags, the Rosen Family, the Bitove Foundation and Dolce Magazine.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières is one of those organizations that shakes up our collective cynicism about modern life. In a safe, stable country
such as Canada, we sometimes lose sight of the terrible and devastating reality of war, natural disasters, epidemics and mass hunger around the world.
